What we publish

Ireland Spots publishes guides to things to do around Ireland. We aim for content that is genuinely useful to someone planning a visit — practical, specific, and honest about trade-offs (cost, crowds, accessibility, how much time something takes).

Editorial independence

Ireland Spots is editorially independent. Coverage decisions — what we write about and what we say — aren't influenced by payment, and we're not affiliated with any government tourism body, attraction, or business we write about.

Research and sources

We verify facts against official tourism bodies, the attraction or venue's own website, local authorities, transport operators, and official event or festival sources, rather than aggregating from other travel blogs. Where a detail can change (a price, an opening hour, an event date), we either link directly to the official source instead of printing a figure that will go stale, or note the date it was last verified.

Accuracy, updates and corrections

Travel information changes — prices, opening hours, and event dates especially. Where an article states a fact that can change, we aim to note when it was last verified and link to an official source. When we get something wrong, we correct it and update the article's “last updated” date; significant factual corrections may include a note explaining the change. If you spot something out of date or incorrect, please let us know.

What we don't do

• We don't publish content written to rank in search engines at the expense of being useful to a real reader.
• We don't fabricate personal visits, reviews, quotes, or ratings.
• We don't create thin pages with no real content just to target keywords.
• We don't claim to have personally visited a place unless we actually have — most articles are researched and fact-checked rather than based on a first-hand visit, and we say so rather than imply otherwise.

AI-assisted research and drafting

Some content on Ireland Spots is researched, drafted, or edited with the help of AI tools, always under the direction and review of the site's editor and checked against the official sources described above before publishing. AI assistance doesn't replace that verification step.

Sponsored content, affiliate links and advertising

Ireland Spots does not currently carry sponsored content, affiliate links, or advertising, and does not currently earn commission or income from anything published on the site. If that changes in future:

• Any sponsored content will be clearly and visibly labelled as such on the page where it appears.
• Any affiliate relationship will be disclosed on any page that actually contains an affiliate link — we won't add a blanket disclosure to pages that don't.
• Editorial recommendations won't be presented as paid endorsements unless they genuinely are one.
• Advertising, if introduced via Google AdSense or similar, will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content.

Photography

Photography across the site is real, licensed photography — credited to its photographer and licence on the page where it appears — never a stock or AI-generated image used to represent a specific place it doesn't actually show.
